Development Advisory

The development sector plays an important role in the transition of Myanmar’s economy and we partner with development firms and consultancies to deliver programmes and solutions effectively and efficiently.  We provide local and subject-matter expertise in identifying pain points and inefficiencies.  We leverage our extensive network across business, government, civil society actors to understand specific landscapes in each target sector and mobilise delivery across sectors.

Highlighted areas of expertise and interest:

  • Private Sector Development: We strongly believe that a thriving private sector is essential to providing jobs and livelihoods for Myanmar people.  We are interested to work on locally-driven solutions that will be sustainable.

  • Financial Sector Development:  Access to financial services is key to development and growth of Myanmar and a strong and efficient financial sector is a pillar of stability and sustainable development.  We are interested to utilise our expertise and experience of the financial sector in a development context.

  • Economic Policy and Regulatory Reform: Myanmar is an economy that is transitioning from a command economy to a market economy, and many of the policy reforms and accompanying regulatory reforms are key to a successful transition. Both our managing partners have a background in economics and are keen to engage in programmes supporting continued reform in these areas.

  • Women Economic Empowerment:  Myanmar is a society that is still trying to lift much of the population out of poverty.  We believe that empowering women and girls to have rights to economic resources and access to financial services will not only provide a fairer society, but also help families build better lives and livelihoods.  We are particularly interested in working on financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, skills training and promotion of equal opportunities for girls and women.
